攜手合作，共創區域和平與繁榮！】12月2日，由「澳洲台灣俱樂部」（ATC）、「澳亞台灣研究協會」（ATSA）及「墨爾本台灣同鄉會」（TAAM）共同舉辦的《台灣現況：反思台澳關係之現狀及未來》論壇，在維多利亞州立圖書館圓滿落幕。
論壇吸引近60位政界、學界及僑界菁英，聚焦台澳雙邊合作的挑戰與機遇。
徐佑典大使以台灣棒球隊奪冠為例，彰顯台灣在國際舞台上的堅韌精神與創新成就。 澳洲聯邦參議員 Raff Ciccone 則呼籲民主國家聯手，支持台灣參與CPTPP等國際組織。此外，專家們深入探討自由貿易協定（FTA）與台澳雙邊合作的發展潛力，展望在能源、教育與資訊安全等多領域的合作機遇。

The "The Taiwan Update: Reflections on the present and future of the Australia-Taiwan Relationship" forum successfully convened at the State Library of Victoria on December 2. Co-hosted by the Australia Taiwan Club (ATC), Australasian Taiwan Studies Association (ATSA)
and The Taiwanese Association of Australia Melbourne Chapter (TAAM), the event brought together nearly 60 participants, including experts and leaders from political, academic, and diaspora communities.
Highlights:
Ambassador Hsu Yu-tien reflected on Taiwan’s resilience, using the national baseball team’s WBC win as a metaphor for Taiwan’s strength in the face of geopolitical challenges, and celebrated 2024 milestones in Taiwan-Australia relations. Senator Raff Ciccone underscored shared values and stressed the importance of strengthening democratic alliances, advocating Taiwan’s participation in international frameworks like CPTPP. Panelists, including former Australian representative to Taiwan Colin Heseltine, TAAM board member Russell Jao, and Monash University’s Dr. Kevin Carricco, provided insights on bolstering trade, education, and combating authoritarianism.
The forum emphasized opportunities for collaboration in areas like energy,education, critical minerals, and countering disinformation, showcasing international support for Taiwan's inclusion in global initiatives.

我評：政治是「眾人之事」。但更 specific 應說是「眾人利益之事」。民主政治，因利益分配，以討論（也可以說 compromise）達到眾人最大利益。而一黨專制政府，照顧的是黨的利益！這次 Taiwan Update，也highlighted 什麼是澳洲人民最大的利益！
