哈利波特的咒語，Expecto Patronum！
Expecto Patronum 是一個很有力的保護咒語（Defensive Charm），是用危險時，招來 “保護的靈“（Spirit Guardian）。
我們都知道英文 Expect 就是期待的意思。Expecto 是拉丁文。我去 Google translate，“天神” 給了 “I expect" 這答案^_^。
Patronum ，谷歌大神給了 “Advocate“ 的答案。Advocate 動詞是支持，名詞就是支持者。有的哈利波特咒語解釋網站，乾脆翻成 “Guardian”（保護者）。

所以，基本上 Expecto Patronum 的意思就是，I expect an advocate。我期待，等待一個支持者（保護者）。在哈利波特裏，這咒語是用來保護靈魂，不要被 “吸魂鬼” 吸走。
至於，為何用 Patronum 呢？我個人這樣猜（聯想）：英文 Patron 是贊助人，保護者的意思。很多英文，其實字根都是拉丁文。
