音樂是一種 娛樂“！看歌劇當然也是一種娛樂！我個人喜歡 “娛樂性（喜劇性）“ 歌劇！大型威爾第歌劇，音樂很棒！但常常劇情，很嚴肅。一般，我不會去現場看這種歌劇！
有一種歌劇，荒謬，好玩，我個人很喜歡 - 就是 Gilbert & Sullivan 的歌劇。幾次想介紹給台灣的愛樂朋友。但因語言的關係，好像不是件容易的事。不過，我還是繼續努力。
HMS pinafore 這歌劇，首演於 1878 年 5 月 25 日。猜猜演多久？571 場！！！厲害吧！？受歡迎吧！？
G & S “發展” 了一種 “饒舌歌”（Patter Songs），對現今 Musicals（音樂劇），有很大的影響。Patter Songs 幾乎是每部 G & S 的招牌歌曲。本文一開始的 Patter Song，就是 G & S 的 HMS pinafore 裡頭的一首歌：I am The Monarch of The Sea & When I was a Lad.
